MyDreamConnect Celebrates Nigerian Children on Children’s Day!

At the Love Garden situated at 3, YDi Street, Off Lasu-Isheri Road, Lagos on the 27th day of May 2016, MyDreamConnect hosted 120 people (106 teenagers and 14 adults) to celebrate the International Children’s Day. As part of our activities to promote healthy people development, every year during Children’s Day Holiday our #SocialTuesdayClinic squad works with teenagers from different schools to help them learn to socialize and develop creative skills to nurture their talents through our Program Level-Up!

Children’s Day is an event celebrated on various days in many places around the world. In Nigeria, Children’s Day is celebrated on May 27. The holiday is simply set to honour children and minors. This year, our key objective was to help students learn CREATIVE & CRITICAL thinking skills that will help them manage RELATIONSHIPS, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT and MONEY excellently. We started the event by engaging students from various schools in Alimosho LGA – a suburb of Lagos, most populous area in the city of Lagos and a place where you would find the highest number of disadvantaged children who don’t seem to see learning as fun. The training/competition (a creative indoor activities of Chess, Monopoly, Scrabble & Essay Writing) was held at our Centre in Ikotun.

On May 27, we awarded certificates to all participants in the pre-event training in addition to informing them further on personal financing taken by Mrs. Olubunmi Adeyemi (CEO, Limer Finance Company) and Personal Leadership by Miss Yetunde Macaulay the founder & CEO of MyDreamConnect.

Many thanks to the Young Disciples International (YDi) for supporting our first Children’s Day Event.
